Anna Crighton M.A.(Hons) - Director and Principal Registrar

As Principal Registrar for the Art Registry Company limited Anna brings to the private sector her knowledge and experience of managing fine art collections.

Anna Crighton held the position of Senior Registrar at the Robert McDougall Art Gallery, the public art museum for the City of Christchurch, for 17 years. As Senior Registrar she was responsible for the day to day management of the Registration Department and in addition she carried out a wide range of registration functions that varied from organising regular exhibition movements, both national and international, to the training and development of new registration staff.

Anna was responsible for the formation of the Robert McDougall Art Gallery's Registration Department in 1987 and advanced all areas of registration including documentation, condition reporting, loan management, couriering, storage management, overseeing packing and freighting of fine art nationally and internationally, copyright and reproduction, and provenance research.

For five years, Anna was the sole New Zealand representative and delegate at International Registrar's Conferences and was the New Zealand representative for the American Association of Museums Registrars Branch.

Anna's Master of Arts Degree (Honours) in Art and Architectural history was gained at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
